Choose Your Options
Use only the search options that you need--leave the others blank.
Main Subject
Enter words that must appear in the title or abstract of the patent. For different word endings, use the ? wildcard: SUPERCONDUCT? Combine words to get specific information. Example: SUPERCONDUCT? AND (INSULATION OR THERMAL SHOCK)
Entire Text
Use this option to search all words in the text of the patent. You can use wildcards and combine words, as described above.
U.S. Class
Enter a U.S. class code just as it appears in a patent, with
all punctuation. For example, class code 395/2.17.
Patent Assignee
Enter the name of the assigned owner. For example, SILICON GRAPHICS.
Do NOT include words like Corp., Inc., etc.
Inventor
Enter the last name and then the first name or first initial, using a wildcard to find variations of the name. Examples: COLE GEORGE? or COLE G? (To search by the company that owns the patent, use Patent Assignee.)
