Search Tips
Choose Your Options
Use only the search options that you need--leave the others blank.
Note: Search results are automatically restricted to records with abstracts. Also, in databases with subject population indexing, results are restricted to human subjects.
Words in Title
Enter words that must appear in the title. For different word endings, use the ? wildcard. Example: REDUC? searches for reduce, reduces, reducing, reduction, etc. Combine words to get specific information. Example: CHOLESTEROL AND (REDUC? OR LOW?)
Main Subject
Use this option to search words that must appear in the title or subject keywords. You can use wildcards and combine words, as described above. Use Search by Subject for tradenames and manufacturer names.
CAS Registry Number
Enter the CAS Registry Number for a substance, including all hyphens. You can enter more than one number, for example: 7784-13-6 OR 7784-18-1. To locate the CAS Registry Number for a drug name, use the Chemical Substances Directory.
