Choose Your Options
Use only the search options that you need--leave the others blank.
Words in Title
Enter words that need to be in the title of the article. For different word endings, use the ? wildcard. Example: MARKET? searches for market, markets, marketing, marketer, etc. Combine words to get specific information. Example: (MARKET SHARE? OR SALES) AND DEODORANT?
Company
Enter the name of a company. Leave out words like Corp., Inc., Ltd, etc. You can search for multiple companies. For example, SUN MICROSYSTEMS AND MICROSOFT.
Main Subject
Enter words that need to be the focus of the article. For different word endings, use the ? wildcard. Example: REDUC? searches for reduce, reduces, reducing, reduction, etc. Combine words to get specific information. Example: DEFICIT AND (REDUC? OR LOW?)
Entire Text
Use this option to search all words in the text of the article. You can use wildcards and combine words, as described above.
Author
The author's name is the news story's byline. Enter the last name, a comma, and then first name: RICHARDSON, JOHN or O'GRADY, SARAH.
Publication
Enter the name of the publication, for example: JANE'S DEFENCE WEEKLY.
